There are a multitude of choices when it comes to Mexican Food in Mount Vernon and Skagit County. I am only going to recommend a few as we all have our own personal choices and this is NOT a comprehensive business listing but a list of personal recommendations. El Gitano is a regional chain of great mexican restaurants with locations in Mount Vernon, La Conner, Burlington and Bellingham. I love the Burlington location as it is more cozy, but normally send guests to the Mount Vernon location as it is only about a mile from Highland Garden House. I have always been satisfied and so has everyone that I have sent.
You may think you are in Mexico with the number of Hispanic partons that you are surrounded by. And ALL the cooks and waitstaff are Mexican.
