Special Tulip Festival Advice – 2018

We get a lot of questions about the Skagit Valley Tulip Festival.  I am only going to try to answer one of them here, and will direct you to the Official Tulip Festival site for the others.

But…the most asked question is:  When in April and what time of the week and day is the best time to visit?

Answer:  If you are flexible on dates and times, visit after April 1st up to early May,  the MV Street Fair is April 20th to 22nd, 2018.

Day of week?  Not on Saturday or Sunday.  Monday through Thursday is best.  Friday is a close second, but VERY early in the day.  We have had freeway backups, on Sundays, northbound all the way from Kincaid Street exit to Conway, 5 miles to the south!  The bottle neck is the downtown Mount Vernon portion, with 3 lights, and getting across the Skagit River.  Get off the freeway at Conway and come across Fir Island to get to the fields.  Lots more detailed info at the Official Site, see link above.
