We enjoyed our stopover in Dennis’ lovely home. Dennis provided attentive, courteous service including a delicious breakfast and clear information. The attractive and comfortable accomodation of Highland Garden House proved a perfect launching point for our visit to San Juan Island.
I enjoyed my stay at Highland Garden House. Both the craftsmanship of the historical home, and the well-kept garden were a special treat.

We stayed with Dennis while on a bike tour of the area, and had a great time. He’s a very friendly person with a background in food, gardens, and the locality that combine into the perfect B&B host. He gave us a tour of his naturalistic, edible-focused garden, provided secure bike storage for us overnight, and steered us to the best brew pub where the locals eat. It was an easy, 10-minute walk to the downtown restaurants. The room, bath and breakfast amenities were just right, and he keeps a very comfortable home. I’ll recommend it to any friends who want to just hang around relaxed Northwest Washington for a bit.
